Training & Development

OVEWVIEW

GKCET’s Training, Placement and Development Cell plays a critical role in networking graduating students with the industry. It prepares the students for the process of recruitment and simultaneously create awareness among companies about the recruitment opportunities at GKCET. Potential recruiters are given structural support for scheduling interviews, hosting seminars, group discussions and written tests. 

OBJECTIVES

To organize campus interviews for final year students with industries and business houses of repute from all over India.
To prepare students to face campus interviews by arranging training in Aptitude tests, group discussions, preparing for Technical and HR interviews through professional trainers and GKCET alumni.
To promote career counseling by organizing guidance lectures by senior corporate personnel and most importantly by the immediately placed senior students. 

Training of Students

 

A special corporate training program is conducted for final year students in resume building, group discussions, general knowledge, current affairs, etc.

Mock interviews are conducted by inviting HR Heads and Technical Experts from well-known companies.

For expose to real-world work culture, short industrial tours to neighboring companies and extended visits to distant industries / organizations of national and international repute are conducted each year.

Regular training classes are conducted, on campus, at the Digital English Language Lab to improve the communication skills of students. With a focus on Campus Recruitment, special training classes are conducted in association with professional training institutes and specialists in personality development, etiquette, grooming etc.

On campus training for competitive exams like GRE, GATE, CAT, etc is also offered.
In order to bridge the gap between the university curriculum and industry needs, the college offers various short-term training programs. These programs include CAD / CAM, J2JEE, VLSI & Embedded systems.

Seminars and workshops are conducted on entrepreneurship development.

  • Pre  Placement Training: Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English  Communication are taught by experts. 
  • Mock Interviews & Group  Discussions are taken regularly to ensure the students success in the  long run

Process Flow

  1. Training  & Development Department trains students on their employability  factors from first year onwards, which is emerged in their academic  calendar.
  2. The  first year syllabus includes soft skills, which is completely activity  based, and this helps them to develop their self-confidence, improve  communication and presentation skills and also to keep them motivated to  enhance their employability skills.
  3. During  the second and third year the concentration is more on Analytical &  Problem solving skill along with focus on behavioral, leadership and  team building activities.
  4. In the final year the students are given touch of finishing school just to make them more professional and industry-ready.
